Why We Can't Wait By Martin Luther King Jr. Papers - Free Essays Why We Can't Wait By Martin Luther King Jr. While perusing Dr. Lord's epic, I had the option to get an uncensored thought of what African Americans experienced in their battle for social equality. I can't appreciate the degree to which they endured while dissenting, and it would be uninformed of me to believe that I could comprehend. The numerous individuals who battled with Martin Luther King, Jr. for social liberties comprehend something about this nation that I am just starting to find. I can dare to dream this dishonorable piece of our history is rarely rehashed. I felt a feeling of sicken and disgrace while finding out about the occasions of the Civil Rights battle in Birmingham, Alabama. I have consistently heard that they would utilized pooches and water hoses to push back groups, yet I generally got the feeling that it was a disordered fighting with respect to the African Americans. I can't accept that individuals who live in a nation dependent on the right to speak freely of discourse and different rights in the Constitution would attempt to stop tranquil fights and exhibits in such a way. How could individuals believe that this sort of persecution was middle of the road and that the blacks didn't have a privilege and opportunity to dissent? Some portion of me needed to be there to help have any kind of effect and participate in the battle, however some portion of me was additionally extremely apprehensive just by finding out about the occasions in Birmingham. The individuals who fought with Dr. Lord indicated a gigantic measure of mental fortitude and energy that couldn't be extinguished by fire hoses or canines. I don't believe that anybody, who has not been the casualty of the extraordinary mistreatment that the blacks were survivors of for many years, could comprehend why the social equality development was essential around then. Dr. Ruler understood that you can't trust that individuals will change their mentalities or convictions, you need to assist them with seeing the mistake of their convictions. It is simple for somebody who isn't being mistreated to instruct you to pause. At the point when you and your families are the survivors of mistreatment and brutality, you arrive at a limit when you understand that thin gs need to change now. Dr. Lord had the mental fortitude to state that openly, and individuals tailed him in the battle in view of that boldness. At the point when you put stock in something that much nothing, not even passing can stop the battle. Significantly after Dr. Ruler was killed, his inheritance lived on. His heritage was something that was more grounded than the racists' perspectives in this nation and there was nothing they could do to stop his inheritance. Our nation has made some amazing progress the occasions in Birmingham, Alabama in 1963. Every day we come nearer to being the nation that Martin Luther King, Jr. imagined, and I trust we arrive soon. I anticipate the day that we can say as a nation that persecution and bigotry were the greatest missteps of our nation and they are a relic of days gone by that will never be remembered by anybody. He educated them that His devotees would need to take up their cross to be with Him. Conveying your cross in that timeframe implied an agonizing, excruciating and mortifying passing, in this way, it implied being happy to pass on to follow Christ. Essay Topics For Domestic Violence

Essay Topics For Domestic ViolenceDomestic violence is a national issue that warrants the attention of many college students. One way to address this issue in a classroom setting is to use essay topics for domestic violence. Although it may seem unusual, such essay topics are frequently successful in helping students to discuss a sensitive issue. There are several general areas where students should consider when they choose a topic for their essay. Perhaps the first thing they need to do is choose a topic that is the most general, but still relates to the specific domestic violence facts they will be addressing. For example, one topic that might make for an excellent essay topic would be a discussion about the 'difference' between 'true'real' abuse and psychological abuse. Students can then delve into a discussion of whether the two kinds of abuse are equally damaging to an individual's emotional and mental health.Another excellent topic to explore could be a controversial political topic. Political issues that seem controversial at first blush (especially ones that have the potential to negatively impact the current administration) can be very useful for students to tackle as an area of interest for their essay. Students can certainly bring up controversial political issues in the classroom, such as the Iraq War, the 'War on Drugs,' and other controversial political topics.Students should also bear in mind that some students will choose not to include any examples of violence in their essay topics, simply because they believe that the inclusion of such examples is counter to the point they are trying to make in their essay. However, if they want to bring up an issue that has the potential to make waves in the news, it would be unwise to simply avoid bringing up any examples of domestic violence at all. The decision to include violence is entirely up to the student, and as long as the essay is appropriately informed and accurate, there is nothing that can reall y be done to stop a student from including violent examples if they so choose.Once a student's draft has been written, the students are free to submit it to a college or university that specializes in such subjects. It would be advisable for a student to wait to see what other colleges are doing before submitting their draft. While it is possible for a student to submit their draft to every college and university in the country, it is usually more beneficial to submit to only a few which might have particular expertise in domestic violence. If a student is unable to find a credible student advisor or college counselor with whom to work through their drafts, they should contact the National Center for Victims of Crime to see if they have a number they can use. They will be able to contact their local office and see if they have any suggestions or tips to offer for assistance. It is important to follow these recommendations, as the National Center for Victims of Crime is highly credibl e and can provide invaluable information to help a student to craft a credible essay topic.Any essay that touches on domestic violence must clearly discuss the effects of domestic violence. Additionally, any topic that touches on violence should state that a relationship between domestic violence and a specific crime or criminal act must be specifically defined.Since so much emphasis is placed on domestic violence and the victims of it, any number of topics can be chosen for an essay on the subject. It's important to take the time to think through the topic thoroughly, and carefully select the essay topic that is most appropriate.

Maternal care in Asian-Indian Culture - Free Essay Example

India is multicultural country with predominant Hindu population. Although, western medicine is widely popular across the country, healthcare belief in India is highly influenced by traditional Indian medicine named Ayurveda which is based on the idea of balance in bodily systems. It uses concept of balanced diet, herbal treatment, and yogic breathing. Prenatal care for most women are followed better in urban area than in remote areas. Despite of having access to healthcare facilities, many urban women dont visit doctors as frequently as recommended by World Health Organization. According to Singh, A., Kumar, A., Pranjali, P. (2014) Low use of maternal healthcare services is one of the reasons why maternal mortality is still considerably high among adolescents mothers in India. Most women from rural areas never visit physician for prenatal care due to poverty, lack of education and travel distance to healthcare facilities. Therefore, there are about thirty percent population of women still deliver their baby at home. Another group of women who dont receive prenatal care are unmarried pregnant women. Asian Indians believe that childbirth must be confined within marriage. Getting pregnant before marriage becomes a big deal as it brings shame and social isolation to the pregnant women as well as to her family. These women are hesita nt to leave their house due to worry of being hurt physically or tortured mentally. Diet during pregnancy is based on traditional Indian medicine Ayurveda. It plays an important role in determining on what type of food women should be eating during prenatal and post-natal stage. According to Wells, Young-Oak, and Elaine Dietsch (2014) high protein, acidic and salty foods are considered hot, and sweet food, vegetable and fruits are considered cold. Most of pregnancy is seen as a hot state, so hot food is to be avoided, but towards the end of pregnancy, hot food is recommended to help with birthing. The postnatal and lactating mother is in a cold state therefore hot food is recommended. Belief and behavior during pregnancy varies with different group of people with status of education and socioeconomic factor. Some cultures force women to deliver at home, others get assistance from health care. Most women normally move to their maternal home in the beginning of third Semester and stay up to a month post-partum. They believe that they receive better care at maternal home rather than at their own home where they may need to get engaged with lot of work. To relieve ache and pain during pregnancy, they are massaged daily by a family member particularly by her mother. Evidence support, After delivery, baby is given a bath immediately. Bath is continued up to three months on daily basis. To strengthen babys health and wellbeing, baby is massaged with warm mustard oil and baby is exposed in sun every morning. To ward off evil, Small black dot is applied on babys forehead daily. In Asian Indian culture, physical role of the father is very minimal during pregnancy but they endure all financial need of the family. Childbirth continues to be a womens affair where fathers are responsible for familys basic needs. Father are usually kept away from mothers room during delivery, in some cases, fathers are not even allowed to see the newborn till twelfth day when the naming ceremony takes place. LVNs can play an important role while taking care of patients from this culture. LVNs should take advantage of patients obstetrics visits as an important point of contact between HCP and pregnant women. Nurses can perform a cultural assessment that has details information about their cultural beliefs, values and practices so that their pre-natal and post-natal care can be culture-customized. LVNs can make a huge differences by teaching prenatal and postnatal care during doctors visit. Nurses face many challenges daily while taking care of wide diversity of people. With Asian Indians, commons challenges nurses face, are language barrier, not readily available female caregivers as they mostly prefer female caregivers. Large numbers of women are even unaware of availability of Indian food at Wester healthcare settings. Some women are not very open with health care providers about their reproductive issues. It is important for nurses to arrange an interpreter to communicate with patients so that there is no communication gap between patients and nurses. McKinneys Maternal-Child Nursing (2018) outlines that cultural differences between healthcare workers and families may complicate the maternal care. Therefore, Nurses must be a culturally sensitive and they shouldnt be judgmental while taking care of these patients.
